When I’m working with collage I feel like a kid in a toy shop. So many possible treasures in my piles of paper scattered around my studio. I love making collage papers and then hand tearing or cutting the pieces into random shapes. It’s an entrancing process, much like a jigsaw puzzle except I don’t know how its going to look in the end. This piece emerged using a few intuitive guiding lines and marks on the base layer and then playing with the colours and composition until it resonates with me.
