“May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow”…(Irish saying)

Did I tell you that I will be traveling to Ireland? I’m excited and just starting to think ahead about my focus for while I’m there. I’ll be heading there in early 2026 to the Ballinglen Arts Foundation situated in Ballycastle, Co. Mayo. My stay includes a small cottage and with access to a separate studio space. Here’s what happened: an artist friend told me about the residency and I thought, what have I got to lose? I applied and was accepted by the foundation for their 5 week artist’s residency. The 1st year of the fellowship is sponsored by the foundation for which I feel grateful. The one requirement is to donate one of my finished artworks to their permanent collection. My hope is to do a visual and written diary while I’m there. Maybe my thoughts about being in Ireland inspired these paintings:

These paintings and others are currently showing in the Octet Salon until June 14th at Artful : the Gallery.
