As an artist, the essence of color deeply resonates with my creative spirit. In the societal landscape of North America, the hue of pink has been assigned the role of representing ‘femininity’ and the conventional roles traditionally tied to it. It seemed an unspoken rule that pink was for ‘girls’ only’.
Identifying as a feminist, I’ve challenged the preconceived standards imposed on how women should behave or feel. In that spirit, I consciously distanced myself from the color pink, which to me echoed the weight of gendered expectations.
This triptych is a narrative of reclaiming pink on my own terms.
A triptych consisting of 3 panels, each panel is 24″ x 12″ total: 24″ x 36″. I do recommend a bit of space between each panel.
